Homeschooler = American Girl?

by Alessandra K. on January 2nd, 2006

Jess of Today is homeschooled…

No, seriously! American Girls’ “Girl of the Year” for 2006 is Jess. Her father is Irish American and her mother Japanese American, and they’re both archaeologists. And Jess is going with them to Belize, as they explore Ancient Mayan ruins. But the thing that separates Jess from any other “Girl of the Year” or any other American Girl doll, for that matter, is that this ten year old girl is… you got it… home-schooled.

Is this a new high rise for home-schooling, when American Girl chooses their special, once-a-year doll to be home-schooled?
