Christian Nudist Community Not Going Over So Well

by Theresa Moss on October 14th, 2006

They’re Christian. They follow the Quaker faith. And they have something against clothes.

The Natura Christian Fellowship has 36,000 members so far and, according to an advisor of the fellowship, attracts Christians who want to live a “naturist” lifestyle. The advisor also said that their group has seen naturalist facilities that turned into sex facilities, and that their group is different—“We’re very family oriented,” he said.

The Quaker church has had nudist camps for 65 years, basing their practice off the book of Isaiah, and suggesting three years of nudity in order to convert others. But although the original group was Quaker, they have attracted many Catholics, Southern Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses and more.

Opponents of the nudist community have concerns about Natura Christian Fellowship’s newest plan to build a 103.83-acre community of homes, townhouses, and a campground next to the city of Belton, South Carolina. Although the fellowship has insisted that they will keep the community’s common areas “clothed” and the “nude” areas hidden from non-members, the city council is trying to come up with ways to prevent the community from being built.

While some are hoping to collect signatures to try to change the zoning in the area, other members of the city council have some more…practical suggestions, such as importing yellow jackets and poison ivy. One man living in the county where the community may be built said it was hard enough having so many people today wear skimpy clothes. “You have to lead by example,” he said. “We’re supposed to be modest.”

The people of Belton South Carolina should be very wary of the man that has started the campaign to develop a naturist park on the border of their town. His name is William R. Martin.

There are numerous records in Sarasota County Florida Court and Pasco County Florida Court regarding Mr. Martin’s business dealings. He claims to be a Christian, but has not acted like one to us, the residents living beside his other proposed resort in Hudson Florida or to the people residing in an existing Naturist Park in Hudson Florida he is trying to take over.

He has filed numerous law suits against property owners of Pasco County Florida either saying they tried to kill him or trying to gain monies for dues at a naturist park he doesn’t even own (because he has not spent one penny to fulfill his contracts). He does not own the park, but wants one property owner there to pay him to pay him $140,000.00 dues and another to pay him $130,000.00. He has LOST ALL OF THOSE FRIVILOUS LAWSUITS!

He not only attacks naturist property owners, he attacks non-naturist property owners. He purchased property almost entirely surrounding a family residence and when they hired an attorney to work on the access to their property (that they had before with no problem from the former property owners), he wrote letters to their attorney slandering their family members and demanding that they pay him $22,000.00 a year for access to their home through his property. He says this is because he cannot operate a naturist facility while they have to drive through his property. He provided a signed temporary easement to them and then wants to extort them! What kind of Christian would act like that?

He is already saying in google groups namely, socialfamilynudism and rec.nude that he may have to sue the City of Belton citing a Religious Restoration Act. He is saying he is not on the Board of Natura Christian Fellowship, Inc. but board members are saying he is putting up the money. He is posting on the Anderson Mail forum touting the proposed naturist park and slandering his opposition in Florida. He even said that the Mayor of Belton is acting like a Nazi! I feel sorry for the board members of Natura Christian Fellowship, because he has probably pulled them into his web of deceit without them knowing his true intentions or his business history.

Please be very wary of this man, Bill Martin. According to what we have witnessed, he is not what he proclaims to be.
